She's had a big month with lots of updates...her forth and fifth teeth came in! The top middle teeth came in shortly after she got a fang on the top!
Regarding table food-she loves it...for the most part! She will just about eat any fruit-bananas, strawberries, blueberries, pineapple, watermelon, cantelope, you name it! She seems to love the independence that comes with having her very own cup of Cheerios and Goldfish and would seriously eat them all day everyday if I would let her. As for vegetables, she could care less-she tends to squirrel peas, corn, and beans in her cheeks, and literally can hide them in there for hours! If she's not squirreling them, she's throwing them, which is not good!
She is talking up a storm and has no shame in carrying on a one-man conversation-we call it a dissertation because she can go on and on for days! She's quick to talk about her dada and not so quick to talk about her mama. She's been known to say "hi" and "hey" occassionally, and she even has her own version on bye-bye. She has been waving for a few months now, but can do it on command now.
She loves to dance-when you tell her to dance, she shakes her shoulders if she's sitting, and shakes her booty when standing. You just say the word, and she is on it!
She's clapping her hands now too! She gets so proud of herself and loves to clap!
Drinking out of her sippy cup! YEAH!! I was beginning to worry that she wasn't a juice kind of baby, but she's drinking it now-I am not sure if it took so long because she didn't really get the sippy cup, or if she didn't get the juice/milk! Regardless, she is drinking like a champ now!
Picture break...
Ironically, she decided to become a good napper at the nine month mark, and is taking two naps a day at anywhere from an hour to three! I am loving my new found freedom...HAHA! She goes to be early and sleeps fairly late (6-7:30 pm to 6:45-7 am). She rarely cries when we put her down for nap or nighttime, and sometimes I have to peek in her room to see if she's asleep or awake-she will play very quietly (thanks to her paci)for up to an hour when she wakes up (and sometimes on her way to bed)...doesn't make a peep! She is such a sweet baby girl-we are so blessed!
On that note, she has recently started taking a paci-not sure why in the world it began to appeal at her in her 9th month of life (she gagged and was quick to spit it out previously). I didn't know what to do with them once she wasn't interested, so I started putting them in her bath basket as a bath toy. Go figure, one day she put it in her mouth and decided to like them. It really is a lifesaver to have that when she starts chatting really loudly (giving her dissertation) in church or when we are at dinner, but we are trying not to let her get addicted too badly. Right now, she could take it or leave it, so that's great for us!
Some of the things she loves: Maggie is totally over the exersaucer, johnny jump up, and jumparoo-she prefers to be on the move! She loves to stroll and has been known to sing along the way! She's really into dogs and loves to love on them (ie pull their tails and hair), loves her toy basket (her favorite activity is to take out each and every toy several times a day), she loves to walk with her stroller, eat the fireplace covers, loves to swing and play in her pool, pulls grass, loves stuffed animals of any kind, kitchen utensils, cheerios, people and her beloved paci. Her favorite thing to do is get into everything she's not supposed to get into! So active!
Another picture break:
Of course, she is certainly far from perfect...I've started to see that she tends to be a bit aggressive around her peers. She has, unfortunately, enjoyed hitting a few friends and truly loves pulling hair...we are working on that. On that note, she loves to tell me "no" too...quite the independent little one!
Regardless, we'll keep her around! We love her so much and are enjoying this stage as much as the others...such a fun age!
