Swimming Lessons-Take One

Maggie had her first swimming lesson this weekend, and the jury is still out as to how much she is going to enjoy the remaining five lessons! The first few minutes were loads of fun-she was all smiles-I was thinking that this was going to be a piece of cake!

Then, our instructor, Calvin started to speak...her tune changed very quickly to this....

Our first lap around the pool required Maggie, who generally lays on her belly in the tub and kicks up a storm, to kick her feet. She was clinging on for dear life...my fearless child literally hated the first 25 minutes of class.

Then, the instructor put those children that "weren't adjusting well" on the opposite side of the pool, and things started looking up! Before class ended, she was blowing bubbles in the water, climbing out of the pool and jumping to me, and splashing in the water.

Maggie ended the class all smiles, and Mr. Calvin assured me that we weren't flunking out of the class quite yet. I am hoping to have an even better lesson next week!
