Our tree!
Poor Maggie had a pretty rough time sleeping Christmas Eve with the over stimulation of the holiday, lots of sugar and lots of attention, and a nasty little Christmas cold/cough, so needless to say, when she woke up at five am, none of us were really ready to get out of bed. She crawled into bed and when we woke up close to NINE, I had to all but drag her into the den to see if Santa came! She wanted nothing to do with new toys from Santa-she only wanted to snuggle in our bed and watch a show...funny!
When I finally got her into the den to "see if our fire was still burning in the fireplace", she saw her brand new kitchen and literally started at it for all of five seconds before reacting. Then, she started to feel the Christmas spirit, and there was no stopping her. She had a blast!!
Cleaning up Mama's mess...
Multi-tasking...
Belle and G-Daddy gave her a trunk of dress up clothes...it took her no time to dig right in...notice Puddles in several pictures...he really never left her side that day!
Sheer delight...
She loved opening every one's presents...
The rest of us might as well have not bought her anything...Anna Claire and Caroline thoughtfully gave her a purse filled with all of the necessities a girl should have at all times...a coin purse, sunglasses, crayons and paper, and LIPSTICK (princess chapstick). Three days later, the blasted lipstick is what she wants with her at all times...hilarious!
Robby and I were literally on the ground laughing at some of the presents my mom sent...she's very creative and certainly got tickled herself as she wrapped a half eaten bag of M&M's, all kinds of MSU gear for Mary Allison (who shall be a die-hard Auburn fan by the way), notes to remind us of things she's already given us throughout the year, newspaper bags to be used for diaper disposal bags, and many other kooky gifts. Among those things, she tended to run short on her wrapping paper and use antique boxes...including one special gem of a box from Gayfers-pretty sure they've NOT been around since the 80's! HA! Maggie was so tickled that we were laughing so hard that she couldn't help but join in...loved this picture of her!!
We made some precious memories this year. Santa was good to us and we are blessed beyond measure! Hope you and your family had a very Merry Christmas!
