Mississippi Children's Museum

On our last morning in Jackson, mom and I took Maggie, Caroline, and Mary Allison to the new Children's Museum. It was SO fabulous-very age appropriate for our crew! Maggie, unfortunately, spent the first hour or so in pure meltdown mode (ahhh-the terrible two's have hit a bit late but with a vengeance!). Thankfully, she
got over it eventually, and we all began to enjoy ourselves a bit more! Seriously, if you are ever in the area, visit the museum because it was awesome.

The girls playing on the HUGE train table...with holes cut in the middle so they could get right in the middle of the train track...brilliant! Who knew...girls like trains too!



Saying "cheers" with the xylophone sticks...they loved the music area! Two girls after their Belle's heart!



There was a big area where they could grocery shop for fresh produce (let's hear it for the Jitney Jungle...YEAH) and even scan the food. When scanned, a picture of the fruit or veggie popped up on the screen and gave some fun facts about said food. They could have shopped all day long! They also got to drive the produce truck!




Mary Allison loved soaking it all in...in the umbrella stroller! She was fascinated...




and even got in on the fun at this particular exhibit! She's never met a mirror she didn't like...just like her sister!



This was a really big kitchen, which would have been Maggie's very favorite exhibit...had she not had her meltdown right around this exhibit. She typically LOVES to cook in the kitchen...next time, right!



This was Caroline in the bubble...Maggie was shooting the bubble from the outside with a huge water gun. SO FUN! This was Caroline's favorite area. It's a huge "catfish pond." You know Mississippi happens to be the catfish capital of the world!! You can fish for catfish in this pond too. Caroline was the pro!



I seriously took a billion pictures but didn't want to bore you with too many more! They also had a place where the kids can literally build a house (out of large foam pieces), lift huge blocks with a crane, race cars, build things on a huge Lego table, dress up, play on a real car-with a tire jack and all, drive a tractor, run through the human digestive system (in the form of a fabulous playground with sound effects and all), paint, dance, and so much more. Great job by the Junior League of Jackson. We'll definitely be back!!
