Maggie's First Birthday

I simply cannot believe that the time to write this post has arrived, but my baby turned ONE last week! It seriously seems like only yesterday, Robby and I were anxiously awaiting her arrival into this world...what a blessing she is to us. We knew we would love her to pieces, but we never had any idea that this tiny little creature would absolutely capture our hearts. This year has been such a good one, and I find it so difficult to picture our lives before she was in it! God is so good, and we are so glad He chose us to parent her!

The birthday party pictures will have to come later because there are a ton of them! We had such a wonderful weekend celebrating her first birthday with both the Hayes and Allison families as well as many friends and her wonderful Godparents.

Below is her official one year old picture! She is acting a bit shy in the picture, but that couldn't be further from the truth-this one year old is large and in charge!

Anna Claire and I headed to Edgar's on Friday to pick out a special birthday treat for Maggie (and the rest of us to enjoy) on her actual birthday. Anna Claire, a girl after my own heart, picked petit fours...strawberry and vanilla ones...yummy!

Here she is blowing out her very first candle!

Taking the first bite of her birthday treat...

Loving that petit four like only her mama and aunt can!!

Chasing it down with a tall, refreshing sippy cup of milk like only her daddy does!

Later that day, those wonderful birthday presents started rolling in! I am so thankful for the generosity everyone showed towards Miss Maggie-she truly loves all of her wonderful gifts, and I am most thankful for the entertainment. You all did WAY too much for the party girl!

First was the playhouse from Belle and G-daddy! She was in heaven and is still loving going in and out, in and out. She's also loving stashing her toys inside...things like coasters, remote controls, and cameras keep turning up missing, only to be found in her little hideout...she is loving life in her new hideout!!!

Next, E came over for a visit with a precious new water table! Maggie, AC, and Caroline had a BALL playing in it (and visiting with Fairy Godmother E).

As you can see, we started out fully clothed and absolutely fascinated...

Then, the water got a bit more messy...so the clothes started coming off!

And, like all Southern ladies should, they ended up in their bathing suits...having a blast with the water table!

Next, the UPS man brought a big box from Pat and Kathryn...what a fun surprise we found inside!

Here is Maggie's other Godmother, Kathryn...

and here is the precious toy they sent Maggie for her big day! This is truly the gift that keeps on giving...Maggie is obsessed with the balls, and I seriously find those balls all over the house...this is seriously one of the most precious toys I have ever seen!

And the box it came in was BONUS entertainment!

After that, the Allison family starting arriving from Jackson, and we LOVED having them! Many gracious thanks to the Hayes family for hosting my wild and crazy family at the Hotel Hayes during their stay! We ended the birthday with a family dinner at MafioZas! We had a great time and Maggie got to eat her first piece of pizza...she LOVED it!

All in all, it was truly a special day for Miss Maggie...and the fun wasn't over! Saturday was the birthday party and I have tons of precious pictures to share from that soon!!!
